How we write our guides

1Who publishes the guides

The guides on this site are published by My Safe Circle, the organisation behind the app of the same name. They are signed by the organisation, not by an individual author, and the organisation is responsible for what they say.

2What they are for

The guides offer practical information on family safety, check-ins, location privacy and the use of the app. They are not medical, legal or professional advice, and they do not replace emergency services: in an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Europe).

3Sources

Every guide lists the sources it relies on at the end of the page. We favour primary and official sources: public health and safety institutions, regulators, standards bodies and the official documentation of the products and platforms we describe.

4Comparisons with other products

Some guides compare My Safe Circle with other apps or services. They are written by the maker of My Safe Circle, so we say so openly. Other products are described from their public documentation as of the date shown on the guide, and we name the situations in which a different solution may suit you better.

5Dates and updates

Each guide shows its publication date and, when it has been revised, the date of its last update. We revise a guide when the app, the products it describes or its sources change in a way that affects its advice.

6Independence and corrections

The site shows no advertising, publishes no sponsored content and uses no affiliate links. If you find an error or an outdated statement, write to us from the contact page: we check every report and correct the guide when it is warranted.
