How to use SOS and All OK on Apple Watch
Two wrist buttons contact people already selected in the iPhone app. Check the setup before relying on them.
Set up iPhone and Watch
Pair your Watch, install My Safe Circle on it and sign in on the iPhone. The Watch connects without another sign-in. Choose SOS recipients and the All OK recipients or group on the iPhone Home screen. If prompted to open the iPhone app, do so to reconnect; signing out on iPhone disconnects the Watch.
Send and cancel
Tap SOS or All OK. The countdown lasts 5 seconds for SOS and 3 for All OK; tap the screen to cancel before it ends. Check the result on your Watch. Wrist signals contain no message; use iPhone to add text. Arrange an All OK test with recipients first.
Choose location
The Current Location switch on Watch applies to both actions. It initially copies the iPhone Home setting, then works independently. The Watch determines its own location; if unavailable, the signal still sends without coordinates.
Replies and limits
You can reply to a How are you? request from the Watch notification when it is worn and unlocked. Quick replies contain no message or location; open the app for those. SOS and All OK need Watch connectivity and do not automatically call emergency services. For immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
Check recipients
SOS and All OK can have different recipients. Review them in the iPhone app before relying on the wrist shortcut.
Interpret the result
A send result does not prove that everyone read the signal or can respond. Agree a call-back plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo an accidental tap?
Yes, tap the screen before the countdown ends.
Must the iPhone be nearby?
