Does live location show a building floor?
A map point does not automatically identify a floor, room or entrance. Add directions the recipient can actually use to reach you.
Feature availability
Instructions for My Safe Circle describe version 2.2, still in development and beta, and not released in app stores. Installed versions may lack the feature; interface and behaviour may change during testing.
Coordinates and indoor address
A map may place a device near a building without separating people on different floors. The My Safe Circle manual promises no floor, room or apartment identification.
Describe the final approach
For a meeting, name a public entrance, floor and visible landmark. Avoid access codes and unnecessary private details. For example: north entrance, first floor, beside the lift.
Try a familiar building
With a consenting contact, compare their street view with your indoor description. Do not read small point changes as stair climbing. A point may be recent yet inaccurate.
Choose a reachable meeting point
In a complex building, prefer a recognisable public spot. Speak directly if the entrance is unclear rather than chasing the pin. In an urgent situation give the appropriate service the full address too.
Guides for your next step
To set up a session, read duration and recipients. For update issues, use the screen-off checks. For data after the session, see Stop, consent withdrawal and deletion.
Frequently asked questions
Does the same building pin prove we are close?
No. You may be on different floors, behind separate entrances or seeing a location error. Check real landmarks.
Is the feature already in app stores?
No. This guide describes version 2.2, still in development and beta; it does not promise availability in the published app.
Does a live session guarantee someone will act?
No. Sharing a point does not confirm a contact is watching the map or can respond. Agree separately who will respond.
