Accepted Reminder: pause, stop and Premium expiry
A My Safe Circle Reminder changes rules the moment the invited person accepts it. Before that, almost everything can be corrected; afterwards, pause, resume and disable remain. Here is what the creator can do, what the recipient can do and what happens when Premium expires.
Before acceptance: the time to correct
When you confirm a Reminder, you send an approval request. Until the person accepts it, the schedule does not run and in the detail page you can still edit title, times, response timeout and alert contacts. The final review shows days, times and alerted people in separate rows: read them calmly.
Use this phase to check your choices with the person who will receive the Reminder. A time that falls during dinner, a response timeout that is too short or a contact who works evenings are easy to fix now and impossible to correct later. The name must stay different from your other non-disabled Reminders: when needed, the app adds a number such as (2).
After acceptance: pause, resume or disable
When the person accepts, the Reminder becomes active and its contents are locked. The creator can no longer change times, title, response timeout or contacts: they can only pause, resume or disable it. They can also disable it directly from the Created by me list.
Pausing suits temporary breaks: a holiday together, a planned hospital stay, a week at a son’s or daughter’s home. Disabling ends the Reminder. If the routine really has to change, for example from evening to morning, the way is to disable it and create a new one, which the person must accept again.
Contacts can only be removed
After approval, alert contacts cannot be added or replaced: they can only be removed. The creator and the person receiving the Reminder can remove any trusted contact, while a trusted contact can remove only themselves. The creator always remains a recipient and cannot be removed.
The rule makes sense: the person accepted knowing by name who would be alerted, and no new contact can appear without new consent. The role of contacts is explained in trusted contact in a Reminder.
The recipient’s choices: reject or stop
If you are the invited person, you can reject the Reminder before accepting it. Rejecting is not rude: it is the intended way to say that the routine does not suit you. You can also talk to the person who proposed it and ask for a different time, which they will need to prepare before sending it again.
If you have already accepted it and no longer want to receive it, you can stop it from the detail page. The creator and the already approved alert contacts receive a notification, so nobody keeps waiting for replies that will not come. Consent is not forever: it can be withdrawn.
Postponing a reply, within the allotted time
When a Reminder runs, the screen shows I am OK and I need help. You can also postpone by a few minutes, and the button shows by how much. It helps if you are just getting home, on the phone or have your hands full.
The postpone option disappears when the deadline is near, so the reply never slips past the allotted time. If you do not reply in time, the alert contacts can be notified. Postponing therefore does not move the deadline: it only gives a few more minutes within the same window.
Managing, restoring or cancelling the subscription
You activate the subscription from the app’s Subscription page, where you see the active plan and find Restore purchases, useful after changing phones or reinstalling. Cancellation, however, does not happen in the app: it is handled by the store you bought from, the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android.
After cancelling you keep the Premium features until the end of the period already paid. If you have active Reminders for other people, note that date: when Premium expires, the 3-day grace period starts. To see what stays free, read free or Premium family safety: what really changes.
